2019 Reflections : Happy New Year.

Last year was a pretty good year, it was not all rosy but I’m sure I laughed more than I cried through it all.

I started my first official job ever in January, this was a big deal for me mainly because I searched, applied, prepared for the interview and got the job without any external interference.

February was all about celebration, my dad turned 50, I celebrated my birthday and celebrated my convocation, I also attended a vision board party organized by “thebloggersadvocate” where I visualized what I wanted my year to look like (I did get most of the things I put on my vision board).

March and April was the month I had to go for the compulsory one year work experience (NYSC) every Graduate has to go through after university which was actually an ok experience for me, I wrote about it here.

Moreover, It gave me a little time off work to hang out with my friends from school, chill for 3weeks and think about what I wanted to do after camp.

May was the month I had to juggle between my former and new job at my place of primary assignment which worked out somehow.

In June, I had to make a difficult decision which was to quit the job I which excited me in other to face my place of primary assignment. Now i have time to freelance and avoid burning out. Now that I think about it, quitting was the best thing that honestly happened to me, thankfully I don’t regret making that decision.

July through November had me working at my place of primary assignment and helping my family with the final touches we were making at the new house we had to move to in December and it was honestly very exciting to see all behind the scene work during construction both at work and on our family building site. it was an awesome experience.

Creating mood boards for the interior and buying the items needed was the best and most exciting part of it all and I’m happy it all came together really nice at the end.

The last month of the year was actually a roller coaster of events and emotions. First, we moved into the really beautiful newly built house, I got more good news during the month than any other month in the year. It seemed like everything I prayed and hoped for during the year came in December. But then with all the beautiful highs came a really low point towards the last days of the year, my family lost a whole building with multiple flats to fire, a family member who resided there lost everything he and his family had to this tragic incident. Devastated as everyone was, we were grateful no life was lost. All we can do is move forward and  hope for a better new year.

Conclusively, I can say last year was a good year and this year will be much better!

How was last year for you? and what are you hopeful for this year?
